W437CWX - Sisters

The last Volvo Olympian built for the UK

If you have any information or images to add (copyright would be acknowledged), feel free to email me at:

437 has six sisters (the others being W431-6CWX) and they have stayed together their whole lives - that is until 437 was taken away for preservation!!

They were all new to Blazefield subsidiary Yorkshire Coastliner and operated from Leeds and York to the coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarbrough and Bridlington.

In February 2006 the whole batch was acquired by First and sent South to its Somerset & Avon subsidiary before finally transferring to Eastern Counties in October 2008.

Soon after 437 entered preservation, all of the sisters were scrapped by Alpha Recovery.
