W437CWX - Story in Picture

The last Volvo Olympian built for the UK

2nd September 2015

Prior to my acquiring W437CWX, First Eastern Counties kindly allowed me to remove the interior and a few other bits & pieces from sister vehicle W436CWX. Shown below are a couple of images from 436 after the interior had been removed and the others show the condition of 437 prior to removal from Great Yarmouth.

3rd November 2015

W437CWX is removed from First Eastern Counties Great Yarmouth garage and towed to Essex.

Unfortunately 437 has a large number of items that need attention before an MOT can be contemplated - not only that but it has some engine parts missing so cannot yet run under its own power, hence the reason for towing. The images below show departure from Great Yarmouth and arrival at Essex, along with some foliage collected along the way through the missing top deck front window area. Extra damage occurred in the top nearside corner as the vehicle sat higher than normal under tow and had no window in place to help protect the exposed fibreglass panel. A temporary cover has been fitted to keep the elements out whilst the vehicle remains outside pending getting the engine running.
